摘 要:清末社会变革风潮下,知识分子发起了以启蒙社会为目的的戏曲改良运动。维新派知识分子出身的京城报人对戏曲改良表现出极大的热情,他们以提升社会地位相号召,争取艺人的支持响应,推动京城戏曲改良运动的开展。在围绕戏曲改良的合作中,报人和艺人既有共识也存在分歧,他们对改良的认识和态度随着社会环境的变化发生着改变,使京城戏曲改良呈现出由启蒙到生意的转向,并最终走向沉寂。清末京城戏曲改良不仅仅是一场关于文化的改造运动,也展现了变革风潮下不同人群的应对和调适,折射出基层社会“旧”与“新”、“传统”与“现代”交织的复杂时代相。To enlighten the society,the intellectuals launched the movement of opera reform in the late Qing Dynasty.The journalists in Beijing showed great enthusiasm for the opera reform.They pushed the movement of opera reform forward by wooing the artists supports in Beijing.The journalists and the artists had both common grounds and differences during their cooperation around the opera reform.Their understanding and attitude had changed with changes of social environment.Because of the change,the direction of opera reform had been shifted from enlightenment to business.The journalists and the artists failed to carry out their objectives of enlightening the masses and improving status.The opera reform reflected the complexity of Beijing society in the late Qing Dynasty.
