论美国的大众之“道”

摘　　要：当代西方有相当多诠释和传播中国"道"的通俗畅销书,它们受到西方学者的广泛批评,认为这种没有仪式的"道"是对中国文化的殖民,是"伪道"。但是,从畅销译本和大众读物中的高频词和内容来看,这些文本中的"道"与西方学界对"道"的学术阐释并不冲突,它们是将中国之"道"的智慧用于后现代的美国生活。某些西方学者之所以认为美国之"道"是"伪道",缘于他们以西方宗教观为标准,强调有形的仪式,又忽视了"道"在中国的特定表现方式。结合"道"在中国传统中的表现,美国之"道"当也是中国"道"文化的表现。There are quite a few popular best-sellers interpreting and spreading the Chinese"tao"in the West.They are widely criticized by western scholars,who think that the"tao"without ceremony is the colonization of Chinese culture and the"pseudo-tao".However,judging from the highly frequent words and contents in popular translations and popular reading materials,the"tao"in those texts does not conflict with the academic interpretation of"tao"in western academic circles,butapplies the wisdom of"tao"in Chinese life in post-modern America.Some Western scholars think that the"tao"of the United States is the"false tao",because they take the western religious view as the standard,emphasize the tangible ceremony,but ignore the"tao"in China’s specific way of expression.Combined with the performance of"tao"in Chinese tradition and the investigation of contemporary Chinese masses and taoists,it can be seen that"tao"in America is also the expression of Chinese"tao"culture.
