《更路簿》之“更长”辨识

摘　　要：海南渔民曾经使用过的30余部具有个性化的《更路簿》,2011年入选国家级非遗代表性项目名录。通过梳理《海南针经》和《南海天书》以及相关的史实,对《更路簿》之“更长”的论述,囿于其源头的趋同性、“更长”设定海洋环境的一致性、船体体量与功能的类型化、航海技术的同质化、实际停靠岛礁位置的差异性,甚至近代东南亚十二刻表的使用、罗盘设计的变化、航海的便易性、岛礁形状的变动性等,我们认为现有的各种《更路簿》之“更长”,作为时间单位,为“一昼夜十二更”;作为里程单位,为“一更40里”。当然,除去“时间单位”和“里程单位”的解读,“更”还有其他内涵的解读,如“改变”之义等。More than 30 personalized Genglu Bu,once used by Hainan fishermen,were selected into the national list of representative intangible cultural heritage projects in 2011.Bycombing Hainan Zhenjing and NanhaiTianshu,as well as relevant historical facts,this paper discusses the“Geng's Length”.Due to the convergence of its sources,the consistency of its setting of the marine environment,the type of the hull size and function,the homogeneity of navigation technology,and the difference of the actual location of the islands and reefs,even the use of the 12-minute tables in modern Southeast Asia,the changes in the design of compasses,the convenience of navigation,and the transformation of islands and reefs,etc.,we believe“Geng's Length”,as a unit of Time,means“twelve Gengs in one day and one night”,and as a unit of mileage,means“one Geng for 40 Li”.Of course,in addition to the time and mileage interpretation,there are other connotations of Geng,for example,the meaning of“change”.
