摘　　要：国际交往对城市功能发展存在客观的要求,城市功能拓展是国家在国际交往中的必然选择。城市功能提升的目标在于既满足本地经济发展与居民基本生活的需要,也满足服务国家总体外交的需要。城市功能提升的路径一是按照品牌塑造的思维进行城市产业结构调整;二是遵循城市发展规律提升城市的区域辐射力;三是整合地方资源提升城市地方政府的外事工作能力。Urban function is an adjustment system which formed by several elements that can meet the needs of residents'survival and development.International communication has objective requirements for the development of urban functions,and urban function expansion is the inevitable choice of the country in international communication.The goal of urban function promotion is not only to meet the needs of local economic development and the basic living needs of residents,but also the diplomatic needs of the service countries.The path of urban function improvements are;first,adjust the industrial structure of the city and create the product brand;the second is to follow the law of urban development to improve the city’s regional radiation.Third,integrate local resources to enhance the foreign affairs capability of local governments.
