摘　　要：“替代农业”是指种植工业原料作物、蔬菜、果树和药草等替代作物的农业,在中世纪的英国就已经出现了。近代早期,英国的“替代农业”经历了一个由相对缓慢到显著发展的过程,这得益于该时期英国社会经济的变革为其提供的市场、土地、劳动力和技术等方面的有利条件。“替代农业”的发展既增加了替代作物种植者的收入,又为英国下层民众提供了更多的就业机会;既为英国国内工业的发展提供了大量原料,又为英国人的生存提供了大量食物。它的发展促进了该时期英国社会经济的繁荣与稳定,也在一定程度上推动了英国社会经济的转型。“Alternative agriculture”refers to the agriculture of planting alternative crops such as industrial raw material crops,vegetables,fruit trees and herbs,which had appeared in medieval England.In early modern England,“alternative agriculture”experienced a relatively slow to significant development process,which benefited from the favorable conditions of market,land,labor force and technology provided by the social and economic changes in the period.The development of“alternative agriculture”not only increased the income of alternative crop growers,but also provided more employment opportunities for the British underclass.It not only provided a lot of raw materials for the development of British domestic industry,but also provided a lot of food for the survival of British people.Its development promoted the prosperity and stability of British social economy in this period,and promoted the transformation of British social economy to a certain extent.
