摘　　要：学术界对1904年世博会中国参展效果总体评价是毁大于誉。本文通过对晚清政府历次参加世博会展品情况的初步统计,指出在该次展会上,中国参展情况是最具代表性的一次。作者在梳理中国1904年世博会展前准备、展中表现相关史料的基础上,围绕中国展品进行系统量化分析,阐明中国此次参展无论是政治上还是经济上均取得较好效果。同时,澄清了一些不确切的说法,勾勒出清末外贸版图,点出"辱华展品"的实质。The overall evaluation of China's participation in the 1904 St.Louis World Expo by academia is more censuring than reputable.Based on the statistics of the exhibits of the late Qing Dynasty participating in the World Expo,this paper points out that China's participation in the Expo is the most representative.On the basis of sorting out the relevant historical materials before and during the 1904 World Expo,the author systematically and quantitatively analyses the Chinese exhibits and illustrates that the exhibition achieved good results both politically and economically.At the same time,it clarifies some inaccurate statements,outlines the territory of foreign trade at the late Qing Dynasty,and points out the essence of"exhibits insulting China".
