摘　　要：阅读是图书馆产生的根本原因,是推动图书馆发展的动力之源,而推广阅读是图书馆忠实履行社会职能、实现自身价值最大化的必然要求,也是图书馆的本质规定。文章从阅读推广的角度再论图书馆的本质,以期通过与图书馆同行的深入切磋和交流共同推动新时代图书馆事业的进一步发展。Reading is the fundamental reason for the emergence of libraries and the driving force for the development of libraries.While the promotion of reading is not only the inevitable requirement for libraries to faithfully fulfill their social functions and maximize their own values,but also the essential requirement of libraries.The paper discusses the essence of library from the perspective of reading promotion,in a move to promote the further development of library in the new era through in-depth discussion and exchanges with peers of libraries.
