Objective To study the pronunciations of confounding speech in children aged 4-5 years with cochlear implants and normal children of the same age. Methods For 8 children with cochlear implants and 8 normal children aged 4-5 years, the Cool edit pro recording software were used to record the confusing sounds they make. The recorded audio was put into Praat voice analysis software, and acoustic analysis was performed on the parameters of the detected sounds. The data were imported into SPSS 17.0 software for t test statistical processing to compare whether there were significant differences in acoustic parameters of words with similar tone between the cochlear implant group and the normal group. Results The error rate of relative sound and different tone separate words and same sound different tone word groups in children with cochlear implant is higher than that in normal children. For the two groups of words "ce"and"che","quan"and"qian": there was no significant difference in acoustic parameters between the normal group and the cochlear implant group(P>0.05).For the three groups of wo rds"yang"and"niang","qu"and"qi","qie"and"tie": there were significant statistical differences in acoustic parameters between the normal group(P<0.05) while no statistically significant difference in the acoustic parameters of the cochlear implant group(P>0.05). Conclusion Children with cochlear implant are different from normal children in their pronunciations of confusable sounds. Compared with normal children, cochlear implant children are more likely to confuse these confusable sounds.
