摘　　要：The System of Dr.Tarr and Prof.Fether,written by American Romantic novelist Edgar Allan Poe,is regarded as a classic of absurd humorous short story.On this basis,director Brad Anderson adapted it into the movie Stonehearst Asylum.There are some differences between the text and film in space-time,characters,plots,themes,and ultimate artistic principles,reflecting the choices between ethics and aesthetics.
