托马斯·品钦《拍卖第四十九批》中的WASTE意象构建

摘　　要：美国当代小说家托马斯·品钦的长篇小说《拍卖第四十九批》,被认为是一部典型的后现代主义黑色幽默小说。叙事结构和叙事话语的复杂性共同建构了品钦小说的叙事迷宫。本文从邮政系统中的WASTE、历史遗留在现代的WASTE以及人类世界中的WASTE入手,解读每一个WASTE意象,旨在探究该部作品所蕴含的多维度主题:政治主题、历史与现代文明的关系主题及存在主义的主题。The novel The Crying of Lot 49 by the contemporary American novelist Thomas Pynchon has been regarded as a typical postmodernism novel full of elements of black humor.The complexity of narrative structure and discourse constructs the narrative maze of Pynchon’s novels.By means of interpreting every WASTE imagery started with the WASTE imagery in postal system,the WASTE imagery in modern society left behind by history as well as the WASTE imagery in human world,this paper is intended to explore the multidimensional themes incorporated in the work,including the theme of politics,the theme of the relationship between history and modern civilization,and the theme of existentialism.
