摘 要:效度是衡量语言测试质量的最重要标准。基于Weir的“社会—认知效度验证框架”,本研究选取北京某高校33名学生为受试,采用澳洲医药卫生行业英语考试(OET)阅读测试样题和国才中级(ETIC-IL)阅读测试真题为实验材料,对两项阅读测试效度进行了对比研究。研究发现,两项阅读测试在考试任务、考试题型、题量、考查技能及考试用时等方面均有明显差别,造成受试的语言能力呈现差异。研究认为ETIC-IL应通过扩展阅读测试材料的体裁与题材、增加考试用时,并适当增加简答题、多项选择等主客观题型与题量,更全面地考查受试的语言沟通能力。Validity is the most important criterion for measuring the quality of language tests.Based on Weir's Social-cognitive Framework for Validating Tests,this study,by selecting 33 students from a university in Beijing as testees and using the sample reading tests of the Occupational English Test(OET)and the English Test for International CommunicationIntermediate Level(ETIC-IL)as experimental materials,made a comparative study on the validity of the two reading tests.The results show that the OET and ETIC-IL differ distinctly in terms of test tasks,test formats,number of questions,test skills,and test time,etc.,resulting in different measurement of the testees'language ability.It is tentatively concluded that,with an eye to more comprehensively examining the testee's language communication skills,the ETIC-IL should expand its genre and subjects of reading texts,increase its test time,and moderately increase its subjective and objective test formats and questions,such as short answer questions and multiple choice questions so as to enhance its validity.
