Objective: To observe the role of systemic nutrition intervention in the integrated treatment of severe COVID-19 patients. Methods:The nutritional intervention was done for 30 patients with severe COVID-19(12 Severe cases,18 critically ill cases) and the combined chronic underlying diseases, nutritional status and application of nutrition therapy were observed and analyzed. Results: Severe patients with new coronavirus pneumonia complicated with chronic basic diseases were mainly 15 cases of hypertension(50.0%), 12 cases of heart disease(40.0%), and 9 cases of diabetes(30.0%);19 cases(63.3%) nutritional risk screening(NRS2002) scored 5-7;20 cases of malnutrition(66.6%);The implementation rate of nutrition treatment was 86.7%;Plasma albumin, prealbumin and blood phosphorus decreased in varying degrees. The difference between severe cases and critically ill cases was statistically significant(P<0.05).Through comprehensive clinical treatment, 26 patients(86.7%) got better. Conclusion: Severe patients with COVID-19 has a higher nutritional risk and malnutrition rate. Systemic nutrition intervention can increase the implementation rate of nutritional therapy for severe patients, thereby effectively improving the nutritional status and clinical outcome of severe COVID-19.
