Objective To provide reference for further research of tetramethylpyrazine and provide scientific basis for the study and treatment of hypertension in vascular remodeling. Methods The relevant research literatures on the mechanisms of tetramethylpyrazine in improving vascular remodeling in hypertension were searched from China Knowledge Network and PubMed databases, then summarized. Results The mechanisms of tetramethylpyrazine in improving vascular remodeling in hypertension mainly focuses on:improving vascular endothelial dysfunction, inhibiting the proliferation and migration of smooth muscle cells, improving blood circulation, delaying the phenotypic transformation of outer membrane fibroblasts, and balancing the synthesis and degradation of extracellular matrix. Conclusion The mechanism of tetramethylpyrazine in improving vascular remodeling in hypertension is mainly focused on small sample clinical and experimental studies, and the researches on these mechanisms are still insufficient.Later, the research on the mechanism of tetramethylpyrazine in improving vascular remodeling in hypertension with large samples should be strengthened.
