摘 要:艾布拉姆斯将济慈诗学归属指向"艺术家"的"表现论"这一划分至今依然是国内外学界主流认识。但整体细读济慈诗文书信表明他奉行指向"读者"的"实用论":他认为诗人是"所有人的医生",致力"给世界敷上一层镇痛软膏"。济慈诗学的"实用论"倾向既是他继承伟大诗歌传统的结果,也是他关切时代政治社会文化症候的产物。将济慈诗学重新厘定为"实用论",有助于揭示济慈诗学与他社会文化批评思想之间的内在统一。M.H.Abrams’s categorization of British Romantic poetics,Keats’s poetics included,as“the expressive theory”displaying a discernible orientation towards“the artist”still holds sway in the academia both home and abroad.However,a holistic close reading of Keats’s poems,essays and letters indicates that he has been pursuing the“pragmatic”notion of reader-orientation for production:he deems the poet as“a physician to all men”who“pours out a balm upon the world”.The“pragmatic”inclination of Keats's poetics results not only from his aspiring alignment with the great poetic tradition,but also from his deep concern with contemporary political,social and cultural symptoms.To recategorize Keats’s poetics as“the pragmatic theory”contributes to reveal the inherent unity of Keats's poetics and his socio-cultural criticism.
