Objective:To explore the application of Deming cycle(plan-do-check-action,PDCA)theory in emergency supplies management of hospital so as to improve the utilization rate of emergency supplies. Methods:The Deming cycle(PDCA)theory was adopted on the basis of current situation of market and the reality of hospital during the pandemic of Coronavirus Disease 2019(COVID-19).Through continuously circulation of 4 stages of Plan-Do-Check-Action to find out problem, formulate measures, improve method and prevent problem at each point of the emergency supplies management. Results:After the PDCA method was used in the emergency supplies management of hospital, the distribution amount of medical surgical masks, medical caps, protective masks and isolation gowns dropped sharply, and the quantity demanded of emergency supplies decreased by 20%to 60%.Conclusion:The implementation of the PDCA cycle management method can effectively manage and control emergency supplies, and improve the utilization rate of emergency supplies, and reduce unreasonable utilization rates.
