Taking the deviation engineering of the auxiliary shaft tower of Sanshandao Gold Mine as the example, the scheme of using the root piles to reinforce and correct the auxiliary shaft tower was proposed. Considering the influence of groundwater and the length of the root piles on the post-construction residual settlement, the corrected Boussinesq solution and FLAC3D software were combined to analyze the vertical displacement during the rectification process of the reinforcement. The results show that increasing the reinforcement length of the root piles can effectively reduce the post-construction residual settlement, which leads to more construction costs when exceeding a certain range. The economically reasonable length of the root piles is 32.5 m. Groundwater has significant impact on the vertical settlement of the foundation. The reinforcement of the root piles can effectively reduce the impact of groundwater on the foundation soil of the tower. The reinforcement method that uses root piles can be effectively applied in the correction of mine shafts.
