民国时期潮汕善堂参与船难救援探析——以报刊为中心的讨论

摘　　要：潮汕善堂是卓具潮汕本土文化特色的传统民间慈善机构。近代以来,潮汕地区的商贸与移民等因素推动潮汕航运业的发展,但由于地理气候、科技落后、管理不善等原因,船难事故经常发生。在船难救援过程中,善堂有组织地抢救伤员、提供物资经费、打捞溺亡尸体,发挥着重要的作用;在事后事故处理中,他们又扮演着政府与受害群体的调停角色,成为社会治理的重要组成部分。这些功能和角色的转变折射出传统慈善组织的社会转型。Chaoshan Charity Hall was a traditional private charity organization with distinctive local cultural characteristics.In modern times,the development of Chaoshan’s shipping industry was stimulated by trade and migration,but due to the geographical and climate conditions,backward science and technology development,poor management and other factors,shipwreck accidents frequently occurred.In the process of shipwreck rescue,the charity hall played an important role in organizing the rescue of the wounded,providing materials and funds,and salvaging drowned bodies.In post-accident handling,it also was a mediator between the government and the victims and became an important part of social governance.These changes in functions and roles reflected the social transformation of the traditional charitable organizations.
