摘　　要：语言是人类进行社会交往和思维认知的工具,但资本主义全球化带来了特定语言性质的变化,即英语语言霸权的形成。当今的英语语言霸权不同于人类社会历史上其他语言在某一特定时期特定区域的兴盛,它实质上是资本主义殖民扩张以及技术、信息和文化输出的结果。在本质上,英语语言霸权的建立和巩固是英美等国争夺全球文化领导权的重要利器。同时,基于英语的霸权地位,英美等国在全球范围内“兜售”英语及其周边产品获取了丰厚的英语霸权收益。对此,应当加强对英语语言霸权的认知,构建我国的国家语言战略,充分应对其对意识形态领域及经济领域的挑战。Language is the tool of human social communication and thinking cognition,but the capitalist globalization has brought about the specific change with the language nature,that is,the formation of English language hegemony.Today’s English language hegemony is different from the prosperity of other languages in a certain period and region in the history of human society.It is essentially the result of capitalist colonial expansion and the output of technology,information and culture.In essence,the establishment and consolidation of English language hegemony is an important weapon for Britain and USA,etc.to fight for global cultural leadership.At the same time,based on the hegemonic position of English,these countries have obtained rich English hegemonic benefits through the means of“selling”English and its peripheral products around the world.Therefore,strengthening our understanding of the English language hegemony,constructing our national language strategy,and fully dealing with its challenges to the ideological and economic fields are needed.
