海明威《雨中的猫》与约翰·斯坦贝克《菊花》的互文性研究

摘　　要：同为20世纪美国极负盛名的作家,海明威与约翰·斯坦贝克的作品在评论界的热度经久不衰。《雨中的猫》与《菊花》分别是他们极具代表性的短篇小说,笔者从作品主题、角色设置、叙事结构与空间隐喻四个维度对《雨中的猫》与《菊花》进行互文性研究,可以看出拥有不同写作风格的两位作家在这两篇小说中体现出了极高的互文性,可以对两位经典男性作家笔下的女性生存状态有更深刻的理解。WBoth as one of the most famous American writers in the 20th century,Hemingway and John Steinbeck's works have been popular in critics for a long time.However,few studies are focusing on the intertextuality of their works.Cat in the Rain and The Chrysanthemum are their representative short stories.Although they are outstanding in different writing styles,a stunning similarity and intertextuality are found in the two short stories by having an analysis of the intertextuality in four dimensions:theme,role,narrative structure,and spatial metaphor.This study could help readers to have a better understanding of the living condition of woman characters constructed by the two classic male writers.
