摘　　要：近代海外潮人慈善事业的兴起由潮汕区域环境与南洋潮侨群体及其他内外因素共同决定。从覆盖范围来看,分为潮汕侨乡慈善、移居地慈善及潮汕以外中国其他地区慈善等三大板块。从慈善内容来看,分为以救生殓死为核心的慈善救济和以教育、医疗及其他公共建设为中心的公益活动等两方面。历史流变之间,海外潮人慈善事业从传统“养济型”慈善转向近代“教养型”慈善,也保留下传统慈善的诸多与观念做法,形成东西、新旧交错并存的慈善事业格局。The rise of modern Teochew People charity is determined by the social environment of Chaoshan region,the strength of Teochew People in Nanyang area and other internal and external factors.From the vertical perspective,Teochew people's charity showed different development characteristics in different historical stages,and the period of the Republic of China was more prosperous than that of the late Qing Dynasty.From the horizontal perspective,Teochew People's charity can be divided into two parts:the traditional charity which focuses on the relief of the living and the burial of the dead,and the social public welfare which focuses on education,medical and public construction.In terms of the geographical scope of Teochew People's charity,it covers three regions,namely Chaoshan region,Nanyang area,and other regions in China.In modern times,Teochew People's charity have made remarkable achievements,which has stepped out of the regional“acquaintance society”in geographical space and formed a pattern of charity in which the East and the West coexist with the old and the new.
