摘　　要：20世纪美国犹太后裔艺术家R.B.基塔远离故土来到英格兰度过了他艺术生涯的大部分时光。早年生活的漂泊与动荡,旅居英国后的文化与身份困惑,带给基塔在情感上的无根与无归属感,使他开始重新寻觅自身的文化与艺术定位。他个人的生活经历、思想感情与他的艺术风格及理论主张是相互联系与渗透的。对"无根"的探索与对归属感的再寻觅构成了基塔生活与艺术创作中的重要主题。其艺术以其独特的方式存在于西方现代主义文化的断层中;是艺术家本人对"自我流放"的思考与探寻;也是时代艺术的一面反光镜。In the 20th century,R.B.Kita,an American artist with Jewish roots,came to England,which is far away from his homeland,and spent most of his artistic career there.Suffered from a nomadic and turbulent early life and bewildered by cultural and identity differences after living in the UK,Kita was emotionally rootless without a sense of belonging.He thus embarked on a journey to re-search for his own cultural and artistic positioning.His personal life experience,thoughts and feelings as well as his artistic style and theoretical propositions are interrelated and permeated.The exploration of"rootlessness"and the re-search for a sense of belonging constitute a critical theme in Kita’s life and artistic creation.His art stands out exclusively in the faults of Western modernist culture;it mirrors the artist’s independent thinking pattern and exploration of"self-exile";it is also a reflector of the art of the times.
