Objective:To evaluate the differences in improvements of self-management abilities and in the outcomes of follow-up tests for patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG)under the“new media”patient management system, compared to the traditional extramural patient management system. Methods:This study uses a randomized controlled trial, sampling from 298 patients who have undergone CABG between Jan 2018 and Dec 2018,wherein samples are grouped by management system and evaluated based on major complications which arose during treatment in hospital, outcomes of follow-up tests, and im-provements in self-management abilities. Results:The“new media”management system yielded lesser expenses during treatment in hospital, more desirable follow-up test outcomes, and better self-management abilities. All three criteria produced statistically significant result(P<0.05).Conclusions:The“new media”management system is able to effectively improve CABG patients’self-management abilities,as well as follow-up test outcomes.
