摘 要:赫西俄德在其作品中认为,潘多拉是人世间第一个女人,给人间带来了无穷的灾祸和不幸。潘多拉带到人间的"盒子",在希腊文原文中是指一种容器,对该词的解读,学者们提出了不同的看法。本文通过对古希腊医学中对女性身体和子宫的解释,佐证了将潘多拉的"盒子"解读为女性身体的观点,并联系其他希腊文本中记载的神话故事及实物材料,剖析古希腊社会中关于性别和生育的观念。In his works,Hesiod tells the story of Pandora as the first woman who brought endless pain and disaster to mankind and the world.Pandora brought along with her a"box",which is a misleading translation of Hesiod’s Greek word"πíθο".Scholars have different interpretations about the significance of this vessel.This article analyzes a series of medical writings in ancient Greece in order to contribute to the reading that Pandora’s box represents the female body and,in particular,the womb.The article will also discuss some of the textual evidences concerning women as a gender and the issue of childbirth.
