语象叙事与视觉寓言——再论《黑暗的心》主题的呈现方式

摘　　要：小说《黑暗的心》是用语言构图呈现立体画面和空间场景的伟大作品。因为文字的局限在于"书不尽言、言不尽意",所以用语言构图是对这一缺憾的弥补和超越。康拉德用描摹、并置、拼贴、延展的方式描绘的泰晤士河和刚果河的地理景观所形成的文学空间地图有超出文字的隐喻表达。在读者的视觉观看中,大量精致的构图和断裂的图像所形成的张力导致了寓言化的观看方式,断裂性、碎片性比连贯性和整体性更能表征黑暗的死亡主题。Heart of Darkness is a great novel composing of pictures by words to construct space and scenes.Because words and its meaning is not strictly corresponding or homologous,ekphrasis of visional representation is a surpassing remedy.By using description,juxtaposition,paste-up,and extension,Conrad’s creation of the geographical landscapes of the Thames and the Congo has a metaphorical expression than words.In reader’s mind’s eye,the tension between the exquisite and fracture forms a visual allegory—the appropriate representation of darkness in a theme of death,is break and fragmentation,other than coherence and uniformity.
