20世纪上半叶菲律宾华侨体育的兴起与体育民族主义探析

摘　　要：论文考察了近代菲律宾华侨体育的兴起与发展概况,分析了华侨民族主义在其中的重要作用。近代海内外华人对“病夫”的公共记忆是现代体育缘起的重要因素,重塑健全的民族也成为菲律宾华侨体育的重要目标与动力。“体育民族主义”对菲律宾华侨在当地的发展具有重要意义,华侨通过体育展现了竞争性的民族精神,无论是具有重大象征意义的体育活动还是华侨体育组织的发展,都大大增进了华侨社会的内聚力。在新国民教育、全运会、远运会及抗战等民族主义相关的环境或事件影响下,菲华体育不断发展。菲律宾华侨通过参与当地国际赛事、国庆体育赛事与抗战义赛等,以和平方式表现了民族竞争力,增强了民族自尊与自我肯定,进而巩固了菲华社会基于中国认同的内向性和一致性,为其在当地发展创造了更加有利的条件。This paper examines the emergence and development of sports activities in the modern Philippine Chinese community and analyzes its relevance to Chinese nationalism.A collective memory of being“Sick Man”among the Chinese at home and abroad in modern times was an important stimulus to the rise of sports popularity among the Chinese.Re-creating Chinese national wellbeing was also an ultimate goal motivating the Chinese in Philippines to participate in sports.Sports nationalism was thereby of great significance to the building of the Philippines Chinese community.Through their participation in national and international sports games including charitable ones during the Anti-Japanese War,the Chinese in Philippines intensified their national identity and self-esteem,which consolidated the collectiveness of the Chinese community,and strengthened its ties to China.Sports created more favorable conditions for ethnic Chinese to advance in the Philippines.
