摘　　要：西方早期中国文学史纂中的一部重要著作、葛禄博著《中国文学史》(1902),至今在中国学界鲜为人知。这部诞生于19世纪末20世纪初西方文学概念深刻变化之时的德语著作,虽为西方读者而写,带着西方人的目光,但常能显现出中西比较的倾向,呈现其独特的视角和分析。作者对中国古代经典的评估,对中国诗歌之结构特征的分析,甚至从书写工具和材料的变化推理其对文学风格的影响,以及在文学的历史沿革中见出思想史和文化史的变迁,常能别开生面,在很多方面迄今亦有启示意义。Wilhelm Grube's Geschichte der Chinesischen Litteratur(History of Chinese Literature,1902),is an important work on early historiography of Chinese literature published in the West,but it is known to very few people in Chinese academia.This German book was published at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries which was a transformational period when the Western concept of literature underwent profound changes.Though this book was intended for Western readers and presents a Western approach,it reveals the tendency toward the comparison between Chinese and Western views,thereby offering unique perspectives and analyses.It is noteworthy how the author evaluated Chinese classics,analyzed the structural characteristics of Chinese poetry,and even made inference from the changes with respect to writing utensils and materials about their influence on the literary style,while perceiving,moreover,the ongoing changes in Chinese ideological history and cultural history in the historical development of literature.In this way,the book frequently offers original insights which are of enlightening significance in many respects even today.
