The popularity of the Internet has brought new possibilities to reduce the income gap between urban and rural areas.Based on data from the China Social Survey(CGSS)in 2015,this article analyzes the impact of Internet use on wages of migrant workers. The research results show that the use of the Internet can significantly increase the wage level of migrant workers. After using the PSM to control selective errors,it is found that the use of the Internet can increase the wage level of migrant workers by 43.0%to 49.6%.In terms of age,Internet use has a greater effect on raising the wages of new-generation migrant workers than older generations;by region,Internet use has a significant positive impact on the wages of migrant workers in the eastern and central regions, but not significantly in the western region. After in-depth exploration of the mechanism of the impact of Internet use on migrant workers’wages,it was found that the Internet can raise migrant workers’wages by increasing their human and social capital.
