摘　　要：21世纪的西安跨入国家中心城市和国际化大都市建设行列,厘清这座城市的前世今生,才能站在新的起点更好地推进西安国际化大都市建设。追溯到唐代,长安吸引了来自亚、非、欧等国家数以万计的“外国”人,他们到长安朝拜、进贡、经商、求学、传教或演艺,给长安注入新鲜血液的同时,也带来丰富的物产和异域文化。多元文化在这里交流碰撞,融汇成绚烂多彩的大唐文化。唐长安外商云集,与域外国家、民族经贸关系密切,工商贸易繁荣。无论从长安的城市布局规模、常驻“外国”人口数量,还是国际人文和经贸交流,以及多元文化融合来看,唐代长安都堪称国际化大都市。Back in the Tang Dynasty,Chang’an attracted tens of thousands of foreign people from the continents of Asia,Africa,Europe and other countries.They came to Chang’an to worship,pay tributes,do businesses,study,preach,perform arts,and so on.With all these pouring in,Chang’an had witnessed a prosperity with abundant foreign products and cultures.Owing to these multi-cultural exchanges,conflicts and convergences,a colorful and splendid Tang culture was built.Foreign businessmen and traders from all over the world gathered in Chang’an,the economic and trade relations with other countries and nationalities became closer,commerce and trade boomed.In the light of the city size,the number of foreigners,international cultural,educational and trade exchanges,and multi-cultural integration,Chang’an can be said to be a veritable international metropolis at that time.
