Objective To explore the effect of different protein diets on patients with nephrotic syndrome. Methods A total of 278 patients with nephrotic syndrome in our hospital from October 2018 to October 2019 were selected and divided into very low intake group(VLPD)(n=53), low intake group(LPD)(n=78), normal intake group(NPD)(n=82)and high intake group(HPD)(n=65). The clinical characteristics of patients in the four groups were compared. Results The differences of serum calcium, plasma albumin(ALB), 24 h urinary protein quantification(24 h-Upro), and glomerular filtration rate(GFR)between patients with nephrotic syndrome in different groups were statistically significant(all P<0.05). The incidence of thromboembolism in the NDP group was significantly lower than the VLDP group and the LDP group, the differences in the three groups were statistically significant(P<0.05). The differences among other groups were no statistically significant(P>0.05). Conclusion Diets with different protein intake has an impact on the clinical indicators of patients with nephrotic syndrome, which is the related factor of its occurrence and development of this disease.
