南太平洋5岛国与美国农产品贸易特征及潜力探析

摘　　要：【目的/意义】在“一带一路”倡议的背景下,对南太平洋5岛国(巴布新几内亚、斐济、萨摩亚、瓦努阿图和汤加)与美国农产品贸易特征及潜力进行测度,可为5岛国开拓美国农产品市场提供思路,推动5岛国农产品贸易发展。【方法/过程】根据UN Comtrade数据,描述5岛国与美国农产品贸易总体情况,根据贸易密集度指数、产业内贸易指数、出口相似度指数进行加权计算后得到的结果,对5岛国与美国的农产品贸易互补性、竞争性和贸易增长潜力进行测度。【结果/结论】研究发现,南太平洋5岛国农产品对美国贸易存在较强的互补性和贸易潜力,且贸易联系相对密切。进而提出5岛国与美国应充分利用农产品贸易互补性,促进农产品的优势和需求互补;中国和美国应发挥各自比较优势,扩大在南太平洋岛国的投资和优势产能合作,共同帮助南太平洋岛国实现经济社会的发展等对策建议。【Objective/Meaning】In the context of the Belt and Road Initiative,the paper measures the characteristics and potentials of agricultural trade between 5 South Pacific island countries(Papua New Guinea,Fiji,Samoa,Vanuatu,and Tonga)and the US and provide solutions for the 5 countries to explore the US agricultural markets and to promote the development of agricultural trade of the 5 island countries.【Methods/Procedures】By using the data of UN Comtrade,the paper describes the agricultural trade between the 5 island countries and the US from the perspectives of trade scale and trade structure.The paper used weighted trade intensity index,intra-industry trade index,export similarity index to calculate trade complementarity,competitiveness and potentials of agricultural products between the 5 island countries and the US and finds out the trade complementarity is larger than trade competitiveness,which means large trade potentials.【Results/Conclusions】It is concluded that the agricultural products of the five island countries have strong complementarity and trade potential to the us trade,and the trade links are relatively close.It is suggested that the 5 island countries and the US should make full use of the complementary nature of agricultural trade to promote the complementary advantages and needs for agricultural products.China and the US should give full play to their comparative advantages and strengthen their FDI and capacity collaboration so as to help the socio-economic development of the island countries.
