探析英汉双解学习型词典中的首字母缩略语收录情况

摘　　要：首字母缩略语作为缩略语的一个重要组成部分,在一定程度上反映了新事物和新现象出现所带来的社会发展和变化。英汉双解学习型词典是我国英语学习者必不可少的参考工具,较全面地收录了英语中的高频词汇,但它们对缩略语的收录比例却甚小。因此,文章旨在对时下四部英汉双解学习型词典的缩略语收录情况进行比较研究,发现这些词典在收录方面的不足之处,以期对今后词典编纂中的缩略语收录起到一定的参考作用。Acronyms and initialisms(AAIs),as a subgroup of abbreviations,are reflective of social development as the emergence of new things and new phenomena have given rise to more abbreviated forms of words.As an essential reference tool for China's English learners,bilingualized English-Chinese learner's dictionaries(BECLDs)record the most frequently used English vocabulary,among which there is only a small proportion of AAIs.Thus,this paper presents a comparative study of the inclusion of AAIs in the latest editions of the four popular BECLDs,critically identifies the major problems found therein,and suggests ways to better cover AAIs in future bilingual dictionaries.
