摘 要:基督新教随着英国殖民马来亚而传入,经历了点种、广播和扎根3个传播阶段。英国殖民政府以治理便利和安定发展为先,实行“分而治之”和不干涉宗教事务的政策,使得基督新教在英属马来亚有一定的传播成效,但总体上来说收效不大。英属马来亚是多族群和多宗教社会,也是移民社会,一方面,基督新教传播具有鲜明的族群色彩,马来人、华人和印度人都各自已有根深蒂固的宗教信仰,马来人几乎没有改信基督教者,华人和印度人只有极少数归信;另一方面,移民社会的属性决定了马来亚的基督新教传播与中国华南地区关系密切。Protestantism,which was introduced with the British colonized Malaya,went through three stages of spreading,namely,seeding,transmitting and rooting.By implementing the policy of“Divide and Rule”and“Non-intervention in Religious Affairs”,the colonial government prioritized the convenience of governance and stable development,thus,to some extent,Protestantism experienced a spreading in British Malaya,but in general with little effect.British Malaya is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious society as well as an immigrant society.On the one hand,the spreading of Protestantism has a distinctive ethnic color.Malays,Chinese and Indians had their own deep-rooted religious beliefs.Malays hardly converted to Christianity while only an extremely few Malaysian Chinese and Indians converted to it.On the other hand,the nature of the immigrant society determined that the spreading of Protestantism in British Malaya was closely related to Southern China.
