The group consciousness in Chinese traditional culture breeds the thought tradition of Chinese collectivism.Compared with the west,China has distinct characteristics in history, culture and political system. Therefore,we must basically deny the west⁃ern hypothesis of"rational economic man"and establish the theory of human economic hypothesis which is in line with the reality of Chinese history, culture and economic development. The hypothesis of"collective economic man"is based on the new collectiv⁃ism, implying that the collective and the individual are the premise and support for each other. It fully embodies the dialectical uni⁃ty of the collective interests and the individual interests, and realizes the transcendence of the traditional collectivism. It can be used as the foundation of Chinese local economics. The hypothesis of"collective economic man"condenses the cultural characteris⁃tics of the Chinese people, highlights the purpose of development, has distinctive characteristics of the times, and is rich in theoreti⁃cal openness.Under the guidance of Marxism,it should be rooted in Chinese traditional culture and combined with the specific real⁃ity of socialism with Chinese characteristics to carry out theoretical construction.
