OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of aerosol formed by atomized hypochlorous acid on disinfection and purification of microorganisms in the air and object surface of hospital. METHODS Using the on-site disinfection test method, the hypochlorous acid disinfectant was released at an atomization flow rate of 500 ml/h, and the ambient air and object surface were sampled and tested before disinfection and 1 min, 3 min, 5 min and 10 min after disinfection, respectively, to evaluate the disinfection effect of atomized hypochlorous acid. RESULTS After disinfecting with hypochlorous acid for 1 min, 3 min and 5 min, respectively, the killing rate of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis in the air reached 100.00%;after 5 minutes disinfection of the object surface with hypochlorous acid, the killing rate of E. coli on the wood surface reached 100.00%;after disinfecting for 10 min, the killing rate of S. aureus and B. subtilis spores on the wood surface was 100.00%. CONCLUSION The microorganisms in the air and on the surface of the object can be killed quickly and effectively by atomizing hypochlorous acid disinfectant.
