“境界说”的海外流变——以刘若愚的境界理论为例

摘  要:王国维提出的"境界说"作为中西比较诗学的杰出成果,于20世纪传播到西方后经刘若愚等汉学家阐释得到了再创造。通过对刘若愚有关"境界说"的诗学思想进行研究,可以发现其对王国维"境界说"的阐发既在强调境界中的情景交融、重视语言对境界的影响、认同"造境"与"写境"相融合上有所继承,又在境界的涵义、境界的创造主体、诗歌的境界评价标准以及"境界说"适用的文体范围上有所重构。刘若愚吸收中西诗学而试图发展自己的世界性文学理论,其境界理论便是核心成分。对刘若愚的境界理论进行反思,有助于辩证地看待其发展与不足,对于我国古代文论的海外传播也有着启示作用。As an outstanding achievement of comparative poetics between China and the West, the theory of realm put forward by Wang Guowei was reinvented after it was spread to the West in the 20 th century by Sinologists such as James J.Y.Liu. Through the research on James J.Y.Liu’s poetic thoughts on the theory of realm, it can be found that James J.Y.Liu’s theory of artistic conception has inherited Wang Guowei’s the theory of realm in emphasizing the integration of situations in the state, emphasizing the influence of language on the state, and recognizing the integration of creating realm and writing realm. There are also reconstructions in the meaning of the realm, the creative subject of the realm, the evaluation standard of the realm of poetry and the applicable stylistic scope of the theory of realm. James J.Y.Liu absorbed Chinese and Western poetics and tried to develop his own world poetics. His theory of artistic conception is the core component of it. By reflecting on James J.Y.Liu’s realm theory, it is helpful to dialectically view its development and deficiency and enlighten the overseas dissemination of ancient Chinese literary theory.
