摘　　要：争议图书是图书馆基于个人或群体的反对而试图剔除或限制的图书。争议图书是美国图书馆馆藏建设和读者服务中面临的重要问题,也是理解美国图书馆知识自由的窗口。文章分析争议图书现象产生的缘由,探讨美国图书馆争议图书的处理机制和启示。A challenge is an attempt to remove or restrict certain materials in a library,based upon the objections of a person or a group.Challenged books are the problems of library collection development and patron services in the U.S.,as well as the windows to understand the intellectual freedom of American libraries.This article analyzes the cause of challenged book problems,and explores the solutions focusing on reconsideration process and collaboration with community,from which inspirations could be drawn.
