摘　　要：《中华帝国全志》英译本译述的《本草纲目》开辟了中医药文化在英语世界传播的先河。在“中学西传”背景下,译者以宗教和科学交流为出发点,采取删减、改写、增添文本内容的翻译策略,展现了明清时期中医药文化在西方传播的最初面貌,还原该译本的译介过程对当前中医“走出去”有一定的借鉴意义。The English version of PenTsao KangMu,recorded in A Description of the Empire of China and Chinese-Tartary,is a pioneering work in spreading Chinese medical culture to the west.Under the background of“Chinese culture going to the west”at that period,the translator tried to take the religious and scientific communication into consideration,and employed amplification,omission,adaptation in the translation.The study on its translated version,aiming to display the initial stage of the transmission of Chinese medical culture,would provide a reference for traditional Chinese medicine going out of China.
