Objective To explore the application of low forceps in the treatment of head dystocia and its influence on maternal and infant health. Methods A total of 102 cases of head position dystocia were selected as the research object, all of them were delivered in our hospital from July 2017 to July 2019.51 cases of cesarean section were selected as the control group, and 51 cases of low forceps were selected as the research group. The incidence of complications after delivery and after birth were compared. Results The incidence of postpartum hemorrhage in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and there was no significant difference in the incidence of infection and soft birth canal laceration. There was no significant difference in the incidence of asphyxia, facial abrasion and scalp hematoma between the two groups, and there was no statistical significance in the group comparison(P>0.05).Conclusion The implementation of low forceps can not only improve the treatment effect, reduce the incidence of maternal and neonatal complications, but also improve the life and health of mothers and newborns.
