公共讲演与公共表演:《拉撒路夫人》的自白表征

摘　　要：批评家多认为自白诗具有自传性,可做传记式阐释。但如将自白中的讲述看作传播过程,可进一步考察传播对象与媒介。从这个角度分析被视为自白诗典范作品的西尔维亚·普拉斯的《拉撒路夫人》,可以发现:诗中的女性主角是作者的代言人,通过向观众讲述自杀和复活的经历,将私人话语向公共领域敞开;她还通过展示被剥夺的身体、被渴求与消费的身体、被牺牲的身体,像演艺明星暴露于公众凝视之下,造成轰动效应。诗的完成,经历了从手写稿到打印稿的修改过程,打字机从功能上将书写与出版融为一体,意味着诗人在写作中已将通过发表获得大众读者认可放在了重要位置。因此,自白诗可以看作诗人面对大众的公共讲演与公共表演。Most critics believe that the confessional poetry is autobiographical. The act of confession, however, can be viewed as a process of information dissemination which requires a further consideration on the object and media of the dissemination. From this perspective, some insights into Sylvia Plath’s "Lady Lazarus" can be revealed. The female protagonist, the mouthpiece of the author, recounts her experiences of committing suicide and achieving rebirth. Such an act brings her private discourse open to the public. Moreover, she displays the body(i.e. the abused body, the desired and consumed body, and the sacrifced body) for public gaze as a performing artist does, which causes a sensation. The completion of this poem has gone through the process of modification from a handwritten draft(writing) to typescripts(publishing), a transformation of the information medium suggesting that the recognition of the potential readers have become the poet’s primary concern when she was composing this poem. In this sense, confessional poems can be understood as public speeches and public performances given by the poets.
