摘　　要：《无声告白》中充满了情感书写,蕴含着情感能动性。本文以小说中华裔主人公遭遇种族歧视后产生的羞耻感为主线,探讨白人凝视与族裔羞耻的关系,分析主人公试图通过自我否定融入主流社会的失败尝试,论证羞耻情感所蕴含的能动性。羞耻激发了华裔主体性,将负面情感转化为抨击种族主义、反抗白人凝视的力量,强化族裔认同进而改善了族裔间关系。Celeste Ng’s novel Everything I Never Told You features affective depiction and affective agency.Perusing the Chinese American protagonist’s feelings of shame in the novel,this paper discusses the relationship between the white gaze and ethnic shame,analyzes the protagonist’s failed attempt to integrate into mainstream society through self-denial,and demonstrates the agency and constructiveness of shame.Shame awakens the subjectivity of Chinese Americans,and transforms into a subversive power against the white gaze,strengthens Chinese American ethnic identity and improves inter-ethnic relations.
