摘　　要：Professor Ben Zhong Tang was born in Qianjiang,Hubei Province,China,on February,1957.He received his B.S.and Ph.D.degrees from South China University of Technology(SCUT)and Kyoto University in 1982 and 1988,respectively.He conducted postdoctoral research at University of Toronto(1989-1994).Professor Tang joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST)as an assistant professor in 1994 and was promoted to a chair professor in 2008.He was elected Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry(RSC)in 2009 and 2013,respectively.He is currently serving as Dean of the SCUT-HKUST Joint Research Institute.Professor Tang received the National Natural Science Award from the Chinese Government(first class;2017),the Scientific and Technological Progress Award from the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation(2017),the National Natural Science Award from the Chinese Government(second class;2007),the Senior Research Fellowship from the Croucher Foundation(2007),etc.
