摘　　要：华人数学家张益唐被公认为当代最富传奇色彩的数学家之一。张益唐出生于中国上海,曾先后在北京大学和普渡大学求学,1991年在美国博士毕业之后由于种种原因一度脱离了主流学术界,甚至依靠打零工度日。他在艰苦的环境下独立研究,花了若干年时间努力钻研解析数论中的著名难题孪生素数猜想,并在2012年取得了重大突破。成果被公布后,张益唐一夜成名,获得了诸多学术奖项,成为人们关注的焦点。考察这样一位经历丰富、特立独行的数学家,有助于揭示体制、社会与科学家之间复杂而微妙的关系。The Chinese mathematician Zhang Yitang is unanimously regarded as one of the most legendary contemporary mathematicians.He was born in an intellectual family at Shang hai,studied at Beijing University and Purdue University,and became isolated from the mainstream academia after 1991.Zhang Yitang did his independent research under very harsh conditions,and made the breakthrough contribution while trying to solve the famous "twin prime conjecture".Afterwards,Zhang Yitang received many academic awards,and became a world-wide celebrity.This paper is intended to reveal the complicated and subtle correlation between academic mechanism,society and scientists by introducing the enriched and unique life of Zhang Yitang.
