摘　　要：Dear Editor,Premature ejaculation(PE)is the most common sexual dysfunction with prevalence rates of 20%-30%.1Unfortunately,there are limited treatment options as a result of the lack of knowledge about the pathophysiology of PE.2Although the exact etiology of PE is not clear,it is known that PE is etiologcally heterogeneous,with both genetic and environmental factors playing a role.3Schapiro and Waldinger's study suggested that PE ran in families,with a higher morbidity in the family members of PE patients than that in unafected individuals.4,5.The results of Jern's study indicated that PE is moderately heritable,with an inheritability ratio of 28%in a cohort of 3946 pairs of twins.
