摘　　要：虚拟地理环境是包括作为主体的化身人类社会以及围绕该主体存在的一切客观环境。该文通过分析虚拟地理环境(VGE)在GIS中所起的作用以及GIS专业开设虚拟地理环境课程将会遇到的状况,对高校GIS专业开设虚拟地理环境课程进行一次探讨。The virtual geographic environment is an objective environment that includes the society of human beings as the incarnation of the subject and everything that exists around the subject.This paper discusses the opening of the Virtual Geographic Environment course for GIS majors in colleges and universities by analyzing the role of virtual geographic environment(VGE)in GIS and the situation that GIS majors will encounter when setting up the Virtual Geographic Environment course.
