摘　　要：文章围绕Kevin Lynch《城市意象》书中的理论展开,将其对城市的解读应用到现代历史文化名城城区——西安的钟楼片区(钟楼、回民街、城墙等共同形成的城市中心片区)中,通过对其城市秩序的历史、发展状况、存在问题等方面的分析,深入了解当今西安城市中心区形成的内部逻辑,同时提出城市意象理论存在的部分局限性。The paper focuses on Kevin Lynch’s theory in the image of the city,whose interpretation of the city is applied to the modern historical and cultural city district-the bell tower district of Xi’an(which is formed by the bell tower,Hui people street,city wall and so on).Through the analysis for the history,development status and existing problems of the urban order,we can deeply understand the internal logic for the formation of the urban central area in Xi’an,and put forward some limitations of"the image of the city"theory.
