摘　　要：借鉴国际学界有关歌德首倡之"世界文学"的新近研究成果,"世界华文文学"并非指全世界所有华文作品的集合,而是指在一种世界性视野下,能够跨越其固有境域而进入其它国家或地区,与世界各地进行交流会通并相互影响和接受的文学。中国特有的"书同文"对于经典的永续传承和不同方音人群之间的交往,乃至凝聚民族认同、形成大一统国家发挥了关键性作用。这种特点和功能自然传递和延续到全世界各地的华文创作中。史书美建构"华语语系文学"时,在史观上具有重大谬误,强调两极对抗的思维方式也与中华民族固有的宽和包容的民族性和大同世界理想格格不入,甚不可取。在铭刻中华民族历史记忆、展现中华文化丰厚内涵方面,华文文学具有无可比拟的长处。与"世华文学""华语语系文学""华人文学"等相比,承载和传播最丰富本真的中华文化、有助于增强华人民族认同的"世界华文文学",是最为妥适的学科名称。Based on the recentinternational scholarly research results in’World Literature’, first promoted by Goethe,’World Literature in Chinese’does not refer to a collection of all the works in Chinese in the world but to a literature that, in a world perspective, can cross its inherent regions to enter intoother countries or regions, interacting and communicating with other parts of the world with mutual influence and acceptance.’Shu tong wen’(writing in the same language), unique to China, has been playing a key role in the continuance of the classics and the networking of groups of people speaking different dialects, as well as in the cohesion of national identity and the forging of a unified nation.Such characteristics and functions will naturally transfer and continue into creations in Chinese across the world.Inconstructingher concept of’Sinophone’, Shu-mei Shihcommitted a major error in her historical views as she stressed ways of thinking in a bipolar antagonistic orderand her views, not acceptable, are also at odds with the inherent generosity and tolerance of the Chinese people and their ideals of world harmony. In inscribing the historical memory of Chinese nation and showcasing the rich contents of Chinese culture, literature in Chinese has unmatched strengths and, compared with’shihuawenxue’(World Chinese Literature),’Huayuyuxiwenxue’(Sinophone)and’Huarenwenxue’(Overseas Chinese Literature), it conveys and transmits the richest and the most authentic Chinese culture that helps strengthen’World Literature in Chinese’as recognized by Chinese nation. Hence a most appropriate scientific term.
