Objective To explore antiretroviral medicine safeguards for HIV/AIDS patients in extreme conditions. Methods We used a telephone survey to investigate the antiretroviral treatment situation of HIV/AIDS patients in Wuhan from January 1 st to March 8th,2020,assessed and solved the risk of ART discontinuation for these HIV/AIDS patients. Results A total of 5517 HIV/AIDS patients were receiving antiviral treatment in Wuhan until March 8th.We found that 92.35%of them with no risk of ART discontinuation,4.13%facing the risk of discontinuation in the next 15 days and 3.52%had discontinued.During the response of COVID-19,4500 people received antiretroviral medicines.2084(46.31%)of them went to the clinic for their medicines,157(3.49%)were delivered by local CDC or social volunteers,1735(38.56%)received the medicines by express delivery and 524(11.64%)borrowed medicine from other cities. Conclusion Although the supply of antiretroviral drugs against HIV have been disrupted during the pandemic of COVID-19 in Wuhan, the proportion of patients with ART discontinued has been effectively reduced by setting up an emergency system and providing a variety manners of drug access.
