The Bit Index Forwarding Table(BIFT)of a switch in the multicast based on Bit Index Explicit Replication(BIER)is the core of multicast packet forwarding.A multicast routing subtree classification mode according to multicast message receivers is proposed. The BIFT constructor based on classifying and combining algorithm named C3-BIFT is designed to build bit index forwarding tables for all multicast switching institutions in the Software-Defined Networking(SDN)by merging and classifying the subtrees in the process of multicast tree backtracking. When the group members of the multicast change, the BIFT contained in each switch in the multicast network can be quickly reconstructed to strengthen the adaptability of BIER.The experimental results show that the delay of the receiver joining the multicast introducing BIER is more stable than the conventional multicast in the SDN,and the proposed C3-BIFT algorithm has little impact on the update time of flow table and the delay of multicast joining.
