摘　　要：Engine of European integration,the Franco-German axis had weakened with the expansion of the European Union,but the two countries’Aachen Treaty is promoting EU military coordination,defense and fiscal integration through in-common EU foreign and security policies.This strong return of the Franco-German axis,a pragmatic reaction to changes in transatlantic relations,European integration's crisis,and the uncertainties of a changing world order,accelerated the axis’reinvigoration.Any discord between France and Germany is counterbalanced by the need to consider overall EU interests.
