摘　　要：中国城市地图集系列编纂工作是原国家测绘地理信息局主导的一项全国性大型系列地图集编制试点工程。它阐述了这项试点工作的现实意义与深远的历史意义,列举了前期试点工作所取得的巨大成效与积累的成功经验,指出了后期试点工作有待改进的建议,并呼吁自然资源部要持续做好这项工作。Compiling the Chinese urban atlas series is a pilot project of compiling the national board-scale atlas series,which was led by the former State Bureau of Surveying and Mapping.This article expounds the practical and far-reaching historical significance of this pilot work,enumerates the great results and successful experience of the previous pilot work,points out suggestions for improvement in the later pilot work,and calls on the Ministry of Natural Resources to keep doing this work well.
